Give a part of your PFD to MSSF through the Charitable Contributions Program
Mat-Su Schools Foundation is pleased to announce that we are part of the new PFD Charitable Contributions Program. The Alaska Legislature passed a law in 2008 making this new way to give possible for all Alaskans filing for their PFD on-line. We are excited about the opportunity that it provides all Alaskans to give to their favorite nonprofit organizations.

Student Diplomacy Corp.

In the spring of 2014 the Mat-Su Schools Foundation helped fund Burchell High School sophomore, Autumn Garrett, to serve as the only Alaska delegate in the Student Diplomacy Corps, an international group of students which traveled to Japan for a month this past summer.

As a participant in the program, titled, Beyond the Storm – Sustainable Energy and Recovery, she lived with families and met victims of earthquake and tsunami from Fukushima to Kobe, attended classes on sustainable living, and participated in reconstruction efforts. Thus, the impact of Autumn's participation in this program benefited many beyond a single student; she served as a humanitarian ambassador for our school district and our state.

Thanks to everyone who helped this young lady expand her education and represent our school district on an international level.
